Ivy Lord Art

One of the reasons I moved to Nashville was to be closer to Dollywood. I’m not kidding, I dream about going. In my fantasy I go to see one of the shows there and mid- Dolly hit song, the singer’s voice goes out. Nobody knows what to do, so I jump up onstage and finish the song, saving the day. Wait a second… who’s that in the crowd? Is that? It can’t be…. Dolly Parton herself was here the whole time and saw me sing? Now she wants to adopt me AND give me a record deal? YAY! * Jump in the air, freeze frame, blackout, end of movie, all my dreams come true *

This is crazy on a lot of levels, but I refuse to apologize for my love of Dolly, pink, and sparkly things. Thank goodness I know the luminous Ivy Rhodes, the creator of Ivy Lord Art.

Ivy is an actor and an artist who hops back and forth between NYC and Nashville, and she’s killing it, constantly books acting jobs in both cities (follow her personal insta for updates on her acting projects). I asked Ivy about the process of creating this business and here’s what she said:

“I've been doing art and commissioning pieces for a long time now. Sold my designs on graphic tees in high school, etc. This pandemic and really supportive friends finally got me to take the plunge and get serious with setting up my art business. I gave myself a weekend to CREATE CREATE CREATE. I told myself I was going to make art that I love and would want to purchase myself. At the end of that weekend, I had 15 different works and ultimately chose 11.”

Ivy’s art is so unique, gorgeous and quirky that when I was visiting her I made my mom buy me a Dolly and a Kacey Musgraves print on the spot for my Christmas present. Those two beauties are part of “The Country Club” series, and Ivy says that choosing a favorite is “like choosing my favorite child.” For the art lover in your life with wall space to fill, The Country Club series is meant to go together. Ivy says “In a perfect world, I'd like to have the Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash & Kacey Musgraves prints displayed together in musical harmony.”

If you’re more of a hippie foodie than a country music geek, Ivy has you covered too! “Ramen is my all time favorite food so there is a steamy spot in my heart for the "Ramen Rainbow" print and out of the "Brown Paper Bag" series, I love the mushrooms.” No matter what series speaks to your soul, you’ll likely find a shiny special something in Ivy’s art- “Almost all of my prints have an embellished rhinestone touch. I love how they sparkle when you walk past them in a room.”

Just last week, Ivy blessed us with a new print on her shop of sweet baby angel Harry Styles, but that’s not the end of the excitement! She’ll be taking holiday commissions starting soon- details to come on Instagram- and offering gift wrap on Etsy so you can check two things off your list. And since you were kind enough to stop by my blog, she’s giving you the gift of a promo code! 15% off your order of $20 or more on Etsy until Christmas Eve! Just use the code IVY15 at checkout.

Buy here, and when you get your new treasures hung up make sure to send @ivylordart a pic on Insta! <3
